About
Being outdoors in our harsh Nordic climate places high demands on our underwear. We know that. Since our inception in 1921 we continuously develop our materials and products in our own knitting factory in Sweden. Termo Original and Termo Safe flame retardant underwear is worn and trusted by police, fire rescue serices, military forces and professionals around the world in demanding environments.
Fabrics
We are official partners of PROTEX™ and Protal™ ensuring quality and function is maintained throughout the production process. PROTEX™ offers the following benefits:
SAFETY
A flame needs oxygen. PROTEX™ and Protal™ limits the spread of fire by replacing the oxygen around the flame with other gases that do not burn. PROTEX™ and Protal™ in its pure form has high fire retardant capabilities, but when blended with cotton or other cellulosics, a synergistic effect takes place between the fibres and the LOI is improved. Put simply, the flame retardant performance is improved giving an additional safety margin.
COMFORT
Because PROTEX™ and Protal™ are blended with cotton and similar fibres, the end fabric can provide a level of comfort, softness, air circulation and moisture management not normally associated with protective clothing.
LOOK
PROTEX™ and Protal™ are light weight, soft and provides great design and colour possibilities. Apart from its flame retardant qualities, PROTEX™ and Protal™ are impossible to distinguish between non flame retardant garments by look alone.
FLAME RETARDANT MODACRYL SOLUTION
PROTEX™ and Protal™ are a modified acrylic fibre with permanent flame retardant qualities. Unlike non-permantly flame retardant treated fibres, the protective qualities of PROTEX™ and Protal™ don't wear out. Nor does PROTEX™ expose the skin to chemical additives.
Other alternatives can be more expensive in the long run, because not only do PROTEX™ and Protal™garments protect for a longer time, they also look and feel superior for longer.
DURABILITY
PROTEX™ and Protal™ based garments exhibit great resilience even under industrial laundering. At the same time, they can be easily washed at home by users in the normal way.

Manufacturing
We have been knitting textiles and making base layers in Sweden since 1921. Today we remain the largest knitting plant in Sweden. At a time when many of our competitors chose to relocate their underwear production off-shore, we decided to make the most of the level of education, instinct for quality and inventiveness here in Sweden.
All of our baselayer textiles are knitted in our own factory in Sweden ensuring we have complete control over the quality from yarn to ready product.
